Who we are

TransitEmerald is an independent public-transport information service for Ireland. We bring together timetables, route maps and stop-by-stop times for hundreds of bus, tram and rail services into one fast, easy-to-search website — so you can plan a journey in seconds, without downloading an app or creating an account.

What we do

Ireland’s public transport is run by many different operators, each with its own website and timetable format. That makes it hard to compare services or find a single route quickly. TransitEmerald solves this by indexing over 660 routes from across the network and presenting each one in a clean, consistent layout that works on any device.

On every route page you’ll find:

• The full scheduled timetable by direction and day type
• An interactive map showing the route and every stop it serves
• Estimated travel times between stops
• Information on connecting services and transfers

Where our data comes from

Our route information is built from official GTFS (General Transit Feed Specification) data published for Irish public transport. GTFS is the international standard that operators and Transport for Ireland use to power journey planners and travel apps, which means the schedules you see are drawn from the same source as the official tools.

Coverage

We cover services nationwide — from major cities like Dublin, Cork, Galway, Limerick and Waterford to regional and rural TFI Local Link connections, and cross-border routes to Belfast and Derry. Our directory grows and updates as new timetable data becomes available.

How TransitEmerald is funded

TransitEmerald is free to use and supported by advertising. Displaying ads allows us to keep the service open and available to everyone, at no cost to travellers. You can read more about how we handle data and advertising in our Privacy Policy.
