TransitEmerald is committed to making public-transport information accessible to as many people as possible, regardless of ability or the device they use.

Our approach

We aim to align with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. In practice, that means we design the Site to be:

• Readable — clear typography, generous spacing and high colour contrast for timetables and text.
• Responsive — layouts that adapt to phones, tablets and desktops so schedules are easy to read on any screen.
• Navigable — a consistent structure, descriptive links and a search tool that works with a keyboard.
• Robust — built with standard, semantic web technologies that work with modern assistive tools.

Accessible travel information

Beyond the website itself, we know accessible journeys matter. Ireland’s operators continue to expand step-free access, low-floor vehicles and assisted travel. On each route page you can review the stops served and journey details to help plan an accessible trip. For specific accessibility assistance — such as ramp-equipped services or advance boarding help — please contact the relevant operator directly, as they manage real-time accessibility provision.
